Geographic Information Systems, or GIS, is widely used by federal, state, and local governments and agencies, as well as the private sector. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) defines GIS as "a computer system capable of capturing, storing, analyzing, and displaying geographically referenced information; that is, data identified according to location. A GIS is defined by practitioners as also including the procedures, operating personnel, and spatial data that go into the system."

Clancy Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) provides a wide variety of GIS services to our clients. CEC combines extensive GIS experience, including essential knowledge of cartographic and metadata standards, with environmental science, planning, and statistics. Although CEC specializes in environmental and municipal uses of GIS, our capabilities extend to any GIS application that requires data conversion, database development, mapping, cartographic design, and data modeling and analysis.
